  • When we told you that Air France was planning to ship 60 monkeys to the notorious Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL) this week, you came through with tens of thousands of e-mails, Facebook posts, tweets, and phone calls—and thanks to your quick action, Air France has now confirmed that the shipment has been canceled!

Just Say Non to Shipping Primates to Labs

Immediately upon learning that the monkeys were to be shipped from a Bioculture-owned monkey farm on the African island of Mauritius to Paris and then on to Chicago, where they'd be loaded onto a truck bound for a facility operated by SNBL, PETA got in touch with key executives at Air France urging them to cancel the shipment.

  • CLASS WARFARE. THATS IT. THIS MAN WENT TO HARVARD BUT THINKS LIKE HE WENT TO CHICAGO

  • This breed has been over looked in so many shelters, mainly due to negative media, I have been in rescue and have seen some shelter pitbulls turn into some of the best Family Pets, have seen them overcome so much bad in their pasts.
Alderman Fioretti, all we ask is that you reconsider, and do not ban pitbulls in Chicago, that would mean Families losing their loyal pet (if they can not move) and it isn't a nice sweet euthanasia like when a pet is sick, it is carried out by a person who does this like an assembly line, some pets suffer and take time to die, is this the way we treat our family pets? NO!
Think of all the families who won't be able to save their pets, I know being a home owner I could not up and sell my home to save my pet, (would probably consider it) with laws like this being passed. But back to the real reason, why not put a longer jail sentence on the people who train and fight dogs? Why do the dogs have to pay for a humans bad intentions?
Remember the Ex-Chicago Police Officer Who Lost his Service Pitbull? These dogs are very intelligent, and can be amazing pets, don't condemn them all for what ignorant people do to them.

  • If it walks, hops, crawls, flies, slithers, has got eyes, a momma and a daddy, it's meat.

It's the first week of the new year, which means that gyms are flooded with folks determined to keep their resolutions to lose weight and be healthier in 2012. Chicagoans burning up the treadmill to Fox News Chicago's morning edition got some advice that may have made them stop panting through the "uphill" setting and take notice: To lose weight, go vegetarian.

Dr. Terry Mason, chief medical officer of the Cook County Health & Hospitals System, asked Windy City residents to quit eating meat for a month and see how they feel. And by "meat" he means, "If it walks, hops, crawls, flies, slithers, has got eyes, a momma and a daddy, it's meat."
